Clearfield Municipal Authority CMA to raise rates

Clearfield Municipal Authority (CMA) to raise rates.

What does water conservation get you?

You have practiced water conservation measures to help maintain a low water bill among other things.

Your reward, HIGHER water usage rates. Yes, that's how the CMA is rewarding it's customers for doing their part to conserve our precious natural resource - water.

The CMA has mentioned before and according to April 16,2008 edition of The Progress the CMA has approved a water use fee increase almost DOUBLE the current base rate payed for water service.

Excerpt from The Progress "CMA has attributed the loss in revenue to greater water conservation by its customers due to the increased sewer surcharge charged by Clearfield Borough and Lawrence Township."

What a slap in the face. You do your part to conserve water and because you use less you get charged more. Those at the CMA who approved this increase are complete idiots for approving such a measure. These morons need thrown out.

How about a salary decrease to make up any CMA financial shortfall???????????????????

If I'm not mistaken, the employees of CMA don't pay any part of their medical insurance. We had are rates raised a couple years ago to pay for their insurance. Maybe they could be like any job I've ever worked and pay part of it.
