Graham Spanier Responds to Corbett Budget Cuts

"No warning," he said.
That's one comment made from Penn State President Graham Spanier at a press conference Wednesday, March 9, 2011.

Join the millions of Americans who have dealt with that very same thing. How many found out 2 weeks before Christmas with no warning that their jobs would cease.
How much warning did the workers at Corning get when that State College plant shut down?

It's about time Penn State realizes they are not immune from the financial woes the rest of the country is dealing with. Stop buying up land and buildings and focus on education. If you look around you'll see that Penn State has their nose in just about everything. Take Marcellus Shale for example, does Penn State teach anything about this, NO, but they sure have enough outreach programs concerning it.

Of course no one wants to lose their job, and ol' Spanier will never have to worry about it or feel the pain, but there surely is plenty of unnessary positions throughout the Penn State empire that could be cut.

Sorry, but we don't shed a single tear. Do like the working person has to do, take your paycut, shut your mouth, and suck it up.

Not to mention...this isn't just about Penn State, this is about the entire commonwealth. We had plans in place to help the state and Corbett is planning on taking a total of 660 million dollars in total higher education. Since you're dense, that's 660 with a bunch of zero's after it.
