Howdy Directors and Leaders,
Just wanted to give you an update on how things are progressing towards the beginning of AWANA...

Flyers are available... We have flyers created for the Hillbilly Games and ready for distribution. I will have a stack of them with me at church so if you are interested in having some to pass out, catch me at church. You can also view them on the TCBC webpage under the announcements link.

Sharing the Gospel... I spoke with Pastor Clint and he has agreed (eagerly) to have a Wednesday evening devoted to mentoring on how to share the Gospel with Children. I think this will be a great opportunity for those interested in learning more on this.

Shirts... I have only received four shirt orders so far. If there is anyone else who does not have one, please let me know. Again, it will be the expectation that everyone is in uniform for AWANA this year.

Supplies, supplies, supplies... Directors, I have only gotten orders from one group so far. If you have not let me know what supplies you need yet, please do so in the near future. I will be placing orders next week so we need to get everything together.

Some things that have started coming through.... We have Kids on Mission videos ordered that will great for Sparks and T&T, We received the AWANA Record Keeping (ARK) software which hopefully will be as helpful as it appears. We will soon have a computer set up in one of the rooms off of the children's choir room for this and we will have storage available in that room to get us out of the small closet!!

Don't forget about the meeting on August 28th!!!

There are just a few weeks left until the Hillbilly Games!! Please keep praying for this ministry. Also keep praying for a Sparks Director. One final prayer request I have from you is for someone I work with. He is a Christian who's daughter was in a car accident two years ago and is struggling with his daughter's lack of recovery. Please pray for God to lift him up and strengthen him. In a recent post on his CaringBridge.org page he stated...

"Overall, Haley is about the same. She still smiles and laughs often. There hasn’t been much change in her functioning or ability. We just passed the two year anniversary of her accident and as with so much in our lives now that day was bittersweet. We are grateful for the countless examples of God’s grace to Haley and to us over the last two years. Yet, when we think of how much has been taken from her our hearts break over and over again. I suppose I will never understand how any of this fits into God’s plan for Haley; how any of it brings Him glory. If I dwell on it too much I just get angry. So I try to remember to take deep breaths, pray often, and trust God’s love for Haley is bigger than what I can’t understand. Overall, Haley is about the same. She still smiles and laughs often.
